3 different types of protein, ea. w/ different rates of digestion, makes for a clever protein powder
For reference my go to protein powder is the 10 lb. bag of unflavored whey protein isolate from Now Sports. I like that protein powder because I want just the protein (quality protein) and none of the other stuff found in protein powders, especially the artificial sweeteners. My personal preference is to avoid artificial sweeteners because some of them can really linger in your mouth for a long time, which eventually makes me want to eat something. The other reason that's my favorite protein powder is because I can save money by buying in bulk and when you buy in bulk it takes longer before you need to buy more. This is my first time trying Muscle Beach's protein powder and I really liked it. The best thing about this protein powder is that it has three different types of protein in it, with each of them digesting at different rates - fast, medium, and slow. This is good because with the different rates of digestion you are better able to have a steady stream of protein in your blood which is what you want to give your muscles the nutrients they need in order to grow. The flavor (chocolate) is good. Even though I'm not the pickiest person when it comes to protein shake flavors, I usually drink unflavored protein powder straight with water, I do enjoy a tasty protein shake. Sometimes I consume for purpose and sometimes I consume for pleasure. Fine dining would be an example of consuming for pleasure. Drinking a protein shake is an example of consuming for purpose. So I don't need my protein shakes to have gourmet flavors but I also don't want them to make me gag either. This chocolate protein powder was very enjoyable. It was really nice to drink a protein shake with flavor for a change.Surprisingly the artificial sweeteners in this protein powder didn't bother me. There was no lingering flavor after 15 minutes. I really liked that!I give this protein powder a 4/5 on mixing. It mixes like most protein powders - 90-95% of the powder will mix well, and the other 5-10% of the powder will "bugger" up and float to the top insisting on remaining undissolved. I'm used to that and it doesn't bother me. If it bothered me then I would use a blender. Instead I opt for simplicity and just use a spoon to mix.I like everything about this protein powder and I would potentially buy more of it if Muscle Beach Nutrition came out with a 5 or 10 pound container. I do like to buy in bulk. I will not take away any stars for this being a 2.14 lbs. container. It would be stupid to do a review for a 2.14 lbs. product and then penalize it for being 2.14 lbs.
